Posted on Jul 25, 2021

While staying at Hanging Gardens of Bali and enjoying Ubud, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to deciding how you’re going to spend your days. From ancient temples to eclectic museums, and from incredible wildlife to magnificent palaces, the region of Ubud has something to satisfy every hotel guest wanting to make the most of this special holiday. After waking up in your luxurious villas, here are our five must-see sights and attractions in the region of Ubud:

Ubud Monkey Forest

Just on the outskirts of the main centre of Ubud is the Ubud Monkey Forest. Not only is this park a fantastic place to observe the long-tailed macaque in its natural habitat, it’s also a place of extensive scientific research and spirituality. On your holiday, as you explore the forest, you’ll see beautiful temples hidden away off the beaten track, and you can explore amazing old spiritual sites with monkeys swinging through the branches above.

Ubud Royal Palace – Puri Saren Agung

This palace is one of the most famous buildings in Ubud. It’s situated on one of the main roads, so it’s easily accessible if you’re on foot or in a car. Here you’ll find beautiful architecture and breath-taking gardens – if you’re lucky, and you arrange your trip carefully, you might even get to see an evening dance performance in this most stunning of settings. The palace was built between 1800 and 1823, but it’s been well kept by all inhabitants, and is still a sight to behold.

Agung Rai Museum of Art

Many of the attractions in Ubud are so popular because of their links with the past, and their connections with the spiritual. The palaces and temples of the region have their own historic charm – but this museum is a contemporary space which showcases the best of Balinese art and sculpture. The museum itself has two large buildings displaying an enormous number of artworks. Situated just 3 km south of Ubud, this is a must-see for all art enthusiasts. Transport can be arranged by the Hotel’s concierge.

Bali Bird and Reptile Park

Wander around the two hectares of beautiful tropical gardens and observe some of the wildlife that’s native to Bali in this famous park. You’ll find almost a thousand exotic birds here, as well as all the vibrant wildlife you might expect of a tropical park on an Indonesian island.

Campuhan Ridge Walk

If all of the meandering around museums and palaces has you hankering to do something a little more active on your vacation, the Campuhan Ridge Walk offers mind-blowing hillside vistas that will stay with you forever. The trek starts at the Gunung Lebah Temple and is around 6km long in total. Don’t forget to take plenty of water – and your camera. And after this exciting trip – why not to enjoy one of the most exotic Afternoon Tea’s on the Island, served by the World’s Best Swimming pool.

Located in the cultural heart of the island of the Gods, the Hanging Gardens of Bali is the quintessential luxury villa in Ubud that offers unrivaled accommodation, swimming pool, dining and hospitality experience.
